Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!
Built as a response to music piracy, Spotify has now become a global giant and is the world’s most popular music streaming platform. Over the years, the Swedish company has added many features that only elevate the music listening experience. Of course, you must have a paid subscription to enjoy all those advanced features and ad-free listening. Some of Spotify’s standout features include Spotify Blend, Spotify Private Session, and Spotify Karaoke. Spotify has also improved the creation of podcasts and the listening experience.
The company has also jumped onto the AI trend and introduced many AI features. One of these features is the Spotify AI DJ feature. Think of it as your personal DJ who understands your taste in music and plays tracks that keep you grooving without needing to tell or change the track manually. This guide will share details about Spotify AI DJ and how you can use it. Let us jump right into it.
What is Spotify AI DJ?
Spotify describes the AI DJ feature as a way to “connect even more deeply with the artists you love.” Notably, the Spotify AI DJ knows your music, like your favorite artist, genre, and era, thanks to the hours of listening you do on the music streaming platform. It goes through your listening patterns, such as the songs you listen to, the songs you save to your playlist, and even the songs you once liked listening to. Based on this information, the Spotify AI DJ will play a lineup of songs.
The best part is that Spotify AI DJ mixes and refreshes the song lineup based on your feedback, which we will understand in the next section. Spotify AI DJ has its own voice, not only songs. Notably, it leverages an AI voice platform from Sonatic and then offers commentary like a personalized DJ. Spotify used the voice of their head of cultural partnerships, Xavier “X” Jernigan, as the voice of the DJ. It is also available in Spanish, and the voice behind it is Spotify’s Senior Music Editor, Olivia “Livi” Quiroz Roa, based out of Mexico City.
You need a Premium membership to use Spotify DJ. Spotify recently announced that it is expanding the feature’s availability in more than 60 markets. Also, the Spotify AI DJ feature has gained the ability to allow users to make new requests.
How do you use the Spotify AI DJ feature?
