Acer’s Switch Alpha 12 Introduced as First 2-in-1 Laptop With Liquid Cooling Packed in Intel 6th Gen Core Series CPU

Acer’s Switch Alpha 12 just introduced as the first 2-in-1 laptop with liquid cooling packed in a powerful Intel 6th Generation Core Series CPU without a noisy fan.

Switch Alpha 12 is a $599, 12-inch detachable and has a host of premium features such as a 2160 x 1440 resolution display, USB Type-C charging, and a speedy 128–512 GB SSD. It solves the problem on slow Core M CPUs by using a liquid to absorb the additional heat from its Core Series CPU. LiquidLoop is the name of its cooling technology since the coolant passes through the system in a closed pipe that absorbs the heat and uses the hot air to more than a pump or radiator is required as seen in a desktop. The liquid cooling system takes up little space inside the machine.

Switch Alpha 12 has a snappy keyboard that feels more like the Surface Pro 4 with great snappy feedback and a large touchpad. It also has a colorful display and utilizes a thin, switch-like kickstand that looks more like on the HP Spectre X2 but unlike the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Lenovo Miix 700. Its lever can be bending back into several positions like close to flat and closer to 90 degrees.

Switch Alpha 12 weighs 1.98 pounds alone and 2.76 pounds with its keyboard, which is detachable, backlit, and will ship for free with the laptop, and utilizes USB Type-C for both charging and data and a USB 3.0 port for connecting to other devices. It has Intel’s Skylake-based Core I processors. It comes with up to 8 GB of RAM, integrated Intel 520 graphics, and eight hours of battery life.

Even though Asus unveiled the 17-inch, GX700 gaming laptop with a liquid-cooling dock, Switch Alpha 12 of Acer is the first mainstream laptop to employ the technology and goes on sale in June.
